Accessibility Statement

This statement was prepared on 1 June 2026. It was last reviewed on 1 June 2026.

Our commitment

encircol is committed to making its website accessible to as wide an audience as possible, regardless of technology or ability. We are continually working to improve the accessibility of our digital content.

This website is operated by Scottish Leather Group Limited on behalf of encircol. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels, and fonts using browser or device settings.
  • Zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen.
  • Navigate most of the website using a keyboard alone.
  • Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software.
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader.

We have also tried to make the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Compliance status

This website aims to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 at Level AA. We are working towards full compliance and are aware of some areas currently undergoing review.

Known limitations

We are currently reviewing the following areas for accessibility improvements:

  • Some decorative SVG graphics may not carry appropriate ARIA roles in all contexts. We are reviewing and updating these.
  • Animated elements (orbit graphic on homepage) may affect users with motion sensitivity. We are adding a preference-based pause control.
  • Some interactive controls may not present focus indicators that meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios in all states. We are auditing these across all pages.

We aim to address all identified issues on an ongoing basis.

Technical information

encircol is committed to making this website accessible in accordance with applicable accessibility regulations.

This website is built using Next.js with static HTML export. We use semantic HTML5 elements, ARIA landmarks, and descriptive alt text for images wherever possible. Colour contrast ratios across the site have been reviewed against WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

We test for accessibility using a combination of:

  • Manual keyboard navigation testing.
  • Screen reader testing (VoiceOver on macOS and iOS).
  • Browser-based automated auditing tools.
  • Colour contrast checkers.
